Hotel Riu Baobab

Hotel Riu Baobab is an all-inclusive beachfront resort operated by the Spanish RIU Hotels & Resorts group, positioned at Pointe Sarène on the Petite Côte approximately 95 kilometres south of Dakar in the Mbour area. The resort fronts a long stretch of Atlantic beach characterised by calm, protected conditions and fine-grained sand; the adjacent terrain of baobab trees — Africa's iconic upside-down tree — gives the property its name and shapes the landscaping of the surrounding grounds.

More than 300 rooms and suites are arranged in low-rise buildings across the landscaped compound, with Superior, Premium, and Junior Suite categories all included within the all-inclusive rate plan. The plan covers all meals, snacks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks during operating hours, and participation in the resort's daytime activity and evening entertainment programme. Four swimming pools — including a dedicated children's pool with a shallow section and waterslide — are distributed across the resort grounds, with a swim-up pool bar as a signature feature.

Six dining venues provide variety: the main buffet restaurant handles breakfast and most lunches and dinners, while themed à la carte restaurants — covering Italian, grilled meats, and Senegalese seafood — operate on a reservation basis most evenings. Bars are positioned at the main pools, on the beach level, and in the lobby.

The RiuLand Kids Club manages structured daytime programming for children aged four to eleven, and the RiuFit gym alongside a dedicated spa facility operate adjacent to the main compound. Evening entertainment in the resort's theatre draws on dance shows, live music, and themed party nights. The resort is heavily oriented toward European package holiday visitors arriving on direct charter and scheduled flights from Spain, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom into Léopold Sédar Senghor Airport.
