The hotel's name references the Djoloff Empire, the medieval Wolof state that dominated much of northern Senegal, and the property uses this heritage as an aesthetic thread — carved wooden panels, batik textiles, and an ochre colour palette give the public areas a distinctly West African character that sets it apart from the more generic resort offerings in Saly.
