Habitas AlUla

Habitas AlUla occupies Ashar Valley, a dramatic sandstone canyon on the outskirts of AlUla in Saudi Arabia's Al Madinah Province. The resort sits roughly four kilometres from AlUla Old Town and approximately 22 kilometres from Hegra (Mada'in Salih), the UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring Nabataean rock-cut tombs carved into rose-coloured sandstone at a scale comparable to Petra. The Maraya concert hall — a mirrored cube structure set against the desert landscape and audible from the valley — is about five kilometres away, and the Winter at Tantora cultural festival takes over the surrounding region between October and March each year.

Ninety-six freestanding villas and tented suites are arranged across the valley floor, built from locally sourced and recycled materials to minimise the environmental footprint. Each unit features a private terrace with direct canyon views, air conditioning, and king or twin bed configurations. The design aesthetic draws on the geology of the surroundings — warm sandstone tones, raw timber, and natural textiles — creating a sense of shelter within the landscape.

The resort's signature Canyon restaurant focuses on organic and farm-to-table cuisine, sourcing produce from the property's garden and local AlUla farms. A secondary casual dining space serves lighter fare throughout the day. Breakfast is included in most rate packages.

Wellness facilities include a full-service spa with private treatment rooms, a yoga and movement studio, and a temperature-controlled infinity pool set against the canyon walls. Evening campfire gatherings, sunrise yoga, guided rock art walks, and curated excursions to Hegra are built into the cultural programming calendar.

The service model is small-group and experiential. The resort accommodates families but is particularly suited to couples and wellness travellers; children under 12 require prior arrangement. Advance booking is essential during the winter season when AlUla's festival calendar drives demand.
