Al Madinah Province in western Saudi Arabia combines Madinah, the city of the Prophet's Mosque, with AlUla's UNESCO-listed Hegra, the Red Sea port of Yanbu, and early Islamic sites at Badr, Khaybar and Uhud. This guide covers sights, hotels, food, access rules for non-Muslims and getting around.
Al Madinah Province has no bars, nightclubs or licensed venues: alcohol is banned across Saudi Arabia. Evenings are built around Isha prayer, cafes, late dinners, dates and Arabic coffee, plaza strolls and, in AlUla and Yanbu, arts districts, concerts and seafront promenades. Masjid an-Nabawi stays open all night for Muslim worshippers.
In Madinah the day ends and restarts around the five prayers: after Isha the plazas around Masjid an-Nabawi and the Central Area souqs and cafes fill with pilgrims and families until late. In AlUla the Old Town, Jadidah Arts District and Maraya concert hall provide an evening cultural scene, especially in the cooler season. Yanbu families gather on the Corniche and in the old town of Yanbu Al Bahr.

Plan dinner after Isha prayer; many Madinah restaurants fill from 20:00 and stay open late.
Shops and cafes pause for about 20-30 minutes at prayer times, including late Isha.
Use Uber, Careem or the Madinah airport and city taxis rather than walking long distances at night.
Order Arabic coffee, karak tea, fresh juice or Ajwa dates; alcohol is not available.
AlUla evening venues are busiest from October to March; book tours and concerts at experiences.alula.com.
