Jade Mountain Resort sits on the Anse Chastanet estate on Saint Lucia's southwest coast, roughly a mile from the town of Soufrière and within walking distance of the Anse Chastanet coral reef marine reserve. The property shares grounds with its sister resort, Anse Chastanet, and guests reach the beach via a funicular descending the forested hillside.
Designed by Canadian architect Nick Troubetzkoy and opened in 2006, the resort is built as an architectural statement rather than a conventional hotel. Each of the 29 Sanctuaries — the property's term for its suites — is constructed without a fourth wall, replaced instead by a private infinity pool that appears to flow directly toward the twin UNESCO-listed peaks of the Petit Piton and Gros Piton.
