Izmailovo Hotel Gamma-Delta

Izmailovo Hotel Gamma-Delta is at Izmailovskoye Shosse 71 in the Izmailovo district of Moscow, Russia, beside Izmailovsky Park and next to the Izmailovsky Kremlin market. Partizanskaya metro is close, on the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line, and reaches the centre in about twenty-five minutes. The complex is enormous, a Soviet-era group of towers built around the time of the 1980 Olympics, and its several buildings are named with Greek letters, of which Gamma and Delta are the linked buildings that give this listing its name. The atmosphere is that of a huge, busy resort-style complex, with thousands of rooms and constant group traffic. Izmailovsky Kremlin, a colourful wooden-styled fairground and craft market, is a short walk away and is popular for souvenirs, matryoshka dolls and local food. The surrounding parkland offers trails and open space, unusual for a hotel in the capital. Rooms are simple and functional, from standard doubles to larger categories, and recent refurbishment varies between buildings, so guests should check recent photographs. Free WiFi is normally available. On-site restaurants and cafes serve breakfast, typically a buffet, and other meals, and additional food is available at the market and along the main road. Details of a spa or pool are not confirmed here, so guests should ask the hotel. Service is practical and group-oriented, with tour desks and a large reception. Prices are among the lowest for a Moscow hotel with a metro link, roughly 2,800 to 8,000 RUB per night depending on season and room category. The main appeal is value, the park setting and proximity to the market. Visitors should allow time for the metro ride to reach central sights and for the walk within the large complex to reach the right building.
