Mar Shopping Porto (Via Catarina expansion)

Mar Shopping Porto is a large modern mall in Matosinhos, on the coastal edge of the Porto metropolitan area, and is among the newest and largest shopping centers serving the city. The complex holds more than 250 stores covering fashion, electronics, home goods, and sportswear, plus a multiplex cinema, a bowling alley, and an extensive food court, positioning it as much as a leisure destination as a shopping one. The brand mix spans budget and mid-range chains through to higher-end international names, giving it a broader price range than most Porto malls, from everyday fast fashion to pricier flagship stores. As with other Portuguese malls, prices are fixed and displayed, card payment is the norm, and non-EU visitors can request VAT tax refunds at customer service or participating stores rather than through any bargaining process. The food court offers a wide variety of Portuguese and international cuisine, and the mall gets especially busy on weekends and around the adjacent cinema showtimes. Fashion retailers dominate the main level, with the cinema, bowling alley, and food court concentrated on the upper floor around the central atrium.
