The crowd is broad and mixed-age, from design-minded locals to curious travellers, with a relaxed, conversation-led atmosphere rather than a loud party scene; there is no dress code. Background music is understated lounge and jazz-inflected, kept low enough to support conversation across the maze of small rooms, and there is a billiards table in a back room for guests who want a game alongside drinks. The drinks programme centers on classic cocktails, gin and tonics, and a broad selection of spirits displayed behind ornate glass cabinets, with reasonably priced beer and wine also available. Pavilhão Chinês opens Monday through Saturday from 18:00 until 02:00 and Sunday from 21:00 until 02:00, making it primarily an evening and late-night venue; weekday evenings tend to be calmer and better suited to browsing the collections, while weekend nights get busier, particularly after 22:00. There is no cover charge and the bar does not take reservations, operating on a walk-in basis, though the billiards table can have a short wait during busy hours.
