Lisbon nightlife starts late – attempting a club before 01:00 means an empty dancefloor. Pace the evening accordingly.
Bairro Alto has no single 'bar' to head to – the neighbourhood itself is the venue; walk between dozens of tiny bars and drink on the street.
Book fado restaurant tables at least 3–5 days in advance; the best small houses like Tasca do Chico fill weeks ahead.
Uber and Bolt are the safest and cheapest options for returning late at night. Night buses operate from Cais do Sodré from 00:30.
Respect the noise ordinances in residential Alfama after 24:00; locals do live there among the fado bars.
