Albufeira Hostel occupies a converted townhouse on Rua Latino Coelho in Albufeira's old town quarter — a compact grid of whitewashed facades and cobblestone lanes that slopes down toward the Atlantic. Praia dos Pescadores, the sheltered sandy cove at the foot of the old town, is roughly 400 metres and a five-minute walk downhill from the front door. The lively Strip (Rua São Gonçalo de Lagos), lined with bars and restaurants, is about ten minutes on foot to the east. The central bus terminal on Rua Paul Harris connects to Faro Airport (approximately 40 km east) and Lagos (approximately 50 km west) via regular Eva Transportes services.

The property is a low-rise, tile-roofed building typical of the Algarve's mid-century vernacular, with a communal roof terrace that looks out across the roofline toward the sea. The atmosphere is informal and sociable, drawing a mix of solo backpackers, surfers, and budget-conscious couples in roughly equal measure.

Accommodation runs from mixed dormitories — in four-bed and eight-bed configurations, each bunk fitted with a personal locker, reading light, and power socket — to twin and double private rooms with shared or en-suite bathrooms. A fully equipped self-catering kitchen handles breakfast and light meals, and the ground-floor common room provides sofas, a book exchange, and board games. The roof terrace doubles as the property's social hub each evening, with free Wi-Fi reaching all areas.

No in-house restaurant operates, though a small continental breakfast is available each morning for a modest supplement. Old-town cafés, fish tascas, and pastelarias serving grilled seafood and pastéis de nata are within a two-minute walk.

There is no spa or pool on-site. Front-desk staff can organise surf lessons with local schools, guided jeep safaris to the western Algarve coast, boat trips to the Benagil sea caves, and day excursions inland to Silves and Loulé. Service is friendly and informal, and the hostel suits independent travellers rather than business guests.
