Andaaz Restaurant

Andaaz Restaurant sits on Fort Road Food Street in Lahore's Walled City, in an open-air rooftop space built directly facing Badshahi Mosque. The restaurant serves Pakistani fine dining, drawing on Punjabi and Mughlai traditions, with a menu centred on mutton karahi, seekh kebab, and chicken tikka cooked over charcoal. Andaaz is widely regarded as one of the more upscale addresses on a street otherwise dominated by casual stalls and mid-range restaurants, and its pricing and presentation reflect that positioning. The dining room is entirely open-air, arranged so that nearly every table has a sightline to the mosque's domes and minarets, with the best seats along the terrace edge closest to the monument. In the evening the space is candle- and lantern-lit, creating a dressier, quieter atmosphere than many of its Food Street neighbours, though it still fills with a mix of local diners marking special occasions and visitors touring the old city. Service is attentive by local standards, and portions are designed for sharing across a table. As with the rest of Food Street, no alcohol is served; the drinks list runs to soft drinks, fresh juices, and traditional Pakistani beverages such as lassi. Andaaz operates on a reservation-only basis, and given its limited open-air seating and popularity for evening and weekend dining, booking a day or more in advance is advisable, particularly for tables along the mosque-facing terrace. The restaurant is closed on Mondays, opening Tuesday through Sunday from early evening into the early hours, which fits its role as primarily a dinner destination rather than a lunch spot.
