Thorong La Pass
The highest point of the Annapurna Circuit trek at 5,416 meters, Thorong La is the world's highest motorable mountain pass and the great challenge of the Annapurna circuit. Crossing this icy, windswept saddle between Manang and Mustang is the central challenge of the circuit, requiring an alpine pre-dawn start and rewarding with extraordinary views of both the Annapurna and Mustang ranges. The physical and mental achievement of crossing is one of Nepal's great trekking experiences.
Hours: Cross before 10am (afternoon winds and weather risk)
Best time: October-November and March-May; avoid December-February

Tips
