Getting around Marrakesh combines the narrow alleys of the medina — best navigated on foot — with taxis and apps for longer distances. The city has no metro or tram. Bus Line 19 connects the airport to the centre cheaply but slowly. Grand taxis handle fixed intercity and airport runs. InDriver
Bid-based ride-hailing platform where the passenger proposes a fare and nearby drivers accept or counter-offer. Can be cheaper than Careem, especially off-peak. Requires a local or international phone number for registration.
Google Maps
Useful for navigating Gueliz and the medina perimeter. Walking directions inside the souks can be imprecise — use it as a rough guide only and expect to ask locals for the final stretch. Bus Line 19 is included in transit directions.

Always confirm that the petit taxi meter is running before the journey starts. If the driver refuses, agree a fare explicitly or take another cab.
Ride-hailing apps (Careem, InDriver) are the easiest way to avoid fare disputes at the airport — book in the arrivals hall once connected to Wi-Fi or a local SIM.
The medina is largely car-free: allow extra walking time, especially when navigating the souks between Djemaa el-Fna and the northern medina. Streets are rarely signposted.
For calèche (horse carriage) rides, always negotiate the fare and route before you board. Popular circuits include the medina walls and the road to the Menara Gardens.
The ONCF train station and Supratours bus departure point are both at or near Place Mohammed V in Gueliz — convenient if you are based in the new city. CTM buses leave from a separate terminal on Rue Abou Bakr Seddiq.
Grand taxis charge per seat on shared intercity routes (e.g. to Ouarzazate or the Palmeraie). If you want the whole cab, you pay for all seats. Clarify this before departing.
Bus Line 19 to the airport is the cheapest option at 20 MAD but can be crowded with luggage and takes up to an hour in traffic. Allow extra time if using it for an early flight.
