Royal Mansour Marrakech

Royal Mansour sits in the Medina near Bab Abbas El Sebti, a short taxi ride from Jemaa el-Fnaa and the Koutoubia Mosque. Commissioned by King Mohammed VI and opened in 2010, the property is built as a walled village of 53 private riads rather than a conventional hotel block, connected by a network of underground service tunnels so staff move unseen and guests experience only the alleys, fountains and gardens above ground; the architecture and zellige, tadelakt plaster and carved cedar woodwork were executed entirely by Moroccan artisans. Every riad has two or three floors, a private plunge pool or garden courtyard, and its own rooftop terrace with Atlas Mountain or Medina views. Dining is anchored by two restaurants from chef Yannick Alléno, La Grande Table Marocaine and La Grande Table Française, alongside a tea lounge and bar. The spa spans roughly 2,700 square metres with a hammam, indoor pool and extensive treatment rooms. Service is built around a personal majordome assigned to each riad for the length of the stay, making this one of the most private and staff-intensive luxury properties in Marrakech, oriented toward guests who want total seclusion rather than a communal hotel atmosphere. The scale of the estate, combined with the tunnel system and the density of staff relative to guests, means arrival and departure logistics, in-riad dining and even laundry can all be handled without a guest needing to step outside their own riad.
