Hotel Gallia

Hotel Gallia stands on Rue de la Recette in the heart of the Marrakesh medina, about a kilometre's walk from Jemaa el-Fna and close to the Bahia Palace, Ben Youssef Madrasa, and the Saadian Tombs, putting most of the old city's landmarks within easy reach on foot. The building holds just 14 air-conditioned rooms across Single, Double, and Triple categories, each with its own small patio or private terrace opening off a shared courtyard, and simple en-suite bathrooms; rooms are compact and furnishings are dated in places, in keeping with the hotel's budget positioning. A traditional Moroccan breakfast is served each morning, and there is no restaurant beyond this, nor a spa or pool, though the rooftop solarium with sun loungers gives guests a place to relax and look out over the medina and toward the Atlas Mountains. The hotel runs a 24-hour front desk and basic concierge service that can point guests toward nearby restaurants, hammams, and souk routes. Its combination of long-standing family ownership, central medina location, and modest room rates makes it a fit for budget travellers who prioritise walkable access to the main sights over modern amenities or spa facilities.
