Kasbah Tamadot

Kasbah Tamadot sits in the High Atlas foothills near the Berber village of Asni, about an hour's drive south of Marrakech, with views across the valley toward Mount Toubkal, North Africa's highest peak. The property began as a Berber kasbah before Richard Branson restored and expanded it, and it reopened after the September 2023 High Atlas earthquake with a rebuilt structure now rated at three MICHELIN Keys. Accommodation is spread across roughly forty individually decorated rooms, riad-style suites, Berber tents, and villa suites, each finished with local textiles, carved woodwork, and, in higher categories, private terraces or plunge pools. Dining includes a main restaurant serving Moroccan and international menus alongside produce from the kitchen garden, and full-board packages are available given the property's distance from Marrakech's restaurant scene. The infinity pool looks directly toward the Atlas peaks, and a five-star spa offers a hammam, extensive treatment menu, and a yoga terrace used for morning classes with mountain views. Guided hiking into the surrounding valleys and villages is arranged through the hotel, and a helipad allows direct transfer from Marrakech for guests avoiding the mountain road. Service is geared toward a remote luxury stay, with staff coordinating hikes, spa schedules, and full-board dining rather than city excursions, making the property distinct from Marrakech's Medina and Palmeraie hotels.
