Laguna de las Ilusiones Malecon Walking and Cycling Path

The path runs along the Circuito Interior Carlos Pellicer Camara, which rings most of the Laguna de las Ilusiones near the center of Villahermosa, with multiple public access points making it easy to join or leave the loop at any stage rather than requiring a single trailhead. The full circuit covers 5-6 km of paved, flat walkway shared with cyclists, passing the Yaxchilan lookout tower, open-air sculpture displays and shaded benches, and skirting the forested grounds of the Parque Museo La Venta, where howler monkeys are sometimes heard from the path itself. Surfaces are consistently paved and well maintained, with streetlights along most of the route making early evening walks practical as well as morning ones. There is no single scenic high point; the appeal is the continuous lake view, the birdlife on the water including herons and cormorants, and the chance to combine the walk with a stop at La Venta's outdoor museum. Refreshment kiosks operate at several points along the circuit during daylight hours, though not around the entire loop, so carrying water is still advisable on the quieter stretches.
