Parque La Sauceda Nature Trails

The Parque La Sauceda Nature Trails are a set of marked walking loops through desert-scrub parkland in the Colonia La Sauceda neighborhood of Hermosillo, Sonora. The park entrance sits at Boulevard Vildósola and Circuito La Sauceda, reachable by taxi or rideshare from downtown Hermosillo in about 15 minutes, with no fee required to walk the trails. The loops range from about 1.5 to 3 kilometers and can be combined for a longer outing, with most single loops taking 45 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on the route chosen. The terrain is flat to gently rolling desert scrub on packed dirt and gravel paths, with occasional planted trees offering shaded rest areas along some sections, though much of the open scrubland is exposed to the sun. Interpretive signage marks points of interest along the loops, and the well-defined paths make it easy to choose a shorter or longer route without a formal turn-around point. There are no natural water sources or shelters within the park beyond the shaded rest areas, so visitors should carry their own water. Because the park sits within the city, it remains walkable year-round, though the flat, sun-exposed terrain is more comfortable in the early morning or evening during Hermosillo's hot summer months.
