Papaya Playa Project is a beachfront hotel and event venue on the Tulum coastal road, Quintana Roo, that has become one of the most recognized names in the global electronic music scene through its long-running series of beach parties. The crowd skews international, generally late 20s to 40s, drawn specifically for the music programming rather than casual tourism; dress is beach-party casual, with flowing, festival-style outfits common at night events. Music is squarely electronic, spanning deep house and techno, with a booking history that includes globally known names such as Seth Troxler and Dixon, and the venue's Saturday full-moon parties are considered a signature fixture of the Tulum electronic music calendar. There is no dedicated food-and-cocktail menu comparable to a restaurant; the drinks focus is on beer, spirits, and simple mixed drinks served at outdoor bars built into the beach and pool areas.
