Museo Histórico de Cuautla (Casa de Morelos)

The Museo Histórico de Cuautla, known as the Casa de Morelos, occupies a colonial house in Cuautla's historic center associated with the 1812 Siege of Cuautla, a 72-day standoff in which independence forces led by José María Morelos held the town against royalist troops. The museum's galleries document the siege in detail, alongside broader exhibits on Morelos's role in the independence movement and, in later rooms, the Zapatista revolutionary movement that took root in eastern Morelos a century later under Emiliano Zapata.
