Dolores Hidalgo Nieves Tasting Tour

Dolores Hidalgo is widely credited as the birthplace of Mexican-style nieves, and the route moves between at least three stands directly on the plaza rather than covering wider ground. Tastings lean sweet throughout, running from classic mango and coconut through the town's famous exotic flavors, including mole, shrimp, avocado and tequila nieve, with the guide explaining the churning technique and the history behind the trade. The roughly MXN 350 per-person price includes tastings at all stops on the route; it does not include a full-size nieve if visitors want a larger portion, nor entry to the adjacent Casa de Hidalgo museum, though free time is built in to visit it.
