Comalala is a craft cantina on Venustiano Carranza street in the Centro district of Comala, Colima, Mexico, part of the town's well-known white-and-red bar district. Rather than a formal dining menu, the concept centers on cantina bar food: botanas de cantina, a rotating spread of small plates served with drinks, a pox tasting flight showcasing the fermented-corn Mexican spirit, and ponche de granada, a pomegranate-based punch. The dining room has a lively, colorful character fitting Comala's reputation as the White City of bars, with communal-style seating, a louder evening noise level as the drinks flow, and no dress code. The pox tasting flight is the closest thing to a beverage-program highlight, distinguishing Comalala from the more beer-focused cantinas nearby. Given its popularity, reservations are recommended for weekend evenings, when Comala's bar district draws crowds from both Colima City and Comala's Pueblo Mágico visitors, while the restaurant is closed Tuesdays.
