Kiyosato Pension Izumi

Kiyosato Pension Izumi is a small, family-run pension three minutes on foot from Kiyosato Station, set on the Yatsugatake highland plateau at over 1,200 meters elevation, one of the cooler and greener corners of Yamanashi Prefecture. The pension follows the European-inflected style common to Kiyosato's lodges, with a handful of Western-style twin and family rooms rather than tatami accommodation, and a home-style dinner and breakfast typically included in the rate, often featuring vegetables and dairy from the surrounding Yatsugatake farmland. A lounge area looks out toward the highland scenery, and free parking suits travelers arriving by car from Kofu or the Chuo Expressway. There is no spa or pool. Kiyosato's clear, high-altitude night skies are a regular draw for stargazing, and the pension's station proximity makes it a workable base for exploring the plateau's cycling paths, cheese and dairy farms, and the Kiyosato Terrace lift without needing a car.
