The route can be followed self-guided at no cost or joined with a local guide arranged through the Kofu City Tourism Association for ¥3,000, taking roughly two to two and a half hours at an easy walking pace. Stops include wagashi confectioners specializing in grape and peach-based sweets, such as Koshu-grape daifuku and seasonal peach jelly, alongside a visit to a working jewelry and crystal-carving workshop where visitors can watch gem-cutters at work, drawing a direct line between Kofu's craft heritage and its confectionery traditions. With the guided option, a local guide explains how the city's jewelry industry and fruit-growing economy developed side by side through the 20th century. The self-guided version includes no food in its price, since each sweet stop is paid for individually; the guided version's ¥3,000 fee covers narration and route planning but not the confectionery itself.
