Katsuura Tuna Auction & Breakfast Walking Tour

Local Katsuura guides have run this early-morning walk at Nachikatsuura's fishing port for several years, timed to the 7am tuna auction held inside JF Katsuura Seafood Market, one of Japan's busiest fresh-tuna landing points. The route covers the auction viewing platform, then continues through the adjoining Katsuura shopping arcade, where the guide points out shops that have supplied the port town for decades. The tour is built around three stops: the auction floor, a short historical walk through the arcade, and a breakfast picnic of local Katsuura specialties such as grilled fish and rice. Savory dishes dominate, with no dessert course. Included are the guided auction viewing, the walking commentary, and the breakfast picnic; transit to Nachikatsuura and any drinks beyond what is served with breakfast are not included. Groups are capped at six people, guiding is in Japanese with English support depending on the guide, and the pace is unhurried to accommodate the early hour. Dietary substitutions for the breakfast can sometimes be arranged if requested when booking.
