The crawl begins at Tokushima Ramen Higashi Taishoken, one of the shops credited with popularizing the style, and continues to two or three additional shops within walking distance or a short local transit hop across the city center. Visitors typically order a half or mini-size bowl at each of three stops to leave room for the next, making the overall crawl entirely savoury with no sweet course built in. Because there is no organizing company, each bowl is paid for separately at roughly ¥700-¥1,000, with the full crawl totaling around ¥2,000-¥3,000; transit between shops and any side dishes such as gyoza or rice are not included in that estimate.
