Mishima Skywalk Zipline and Suspension Bridge

Mishima Skywalk combines Japan's longest pedestrian suspension bridge with an adjoining Forest Adventure zipline and obstacle course, set on a hillside in Mishima City at the base of Mount Hakone in Shizuoka Prefecture. The 400m suspension bridge crossing itself requires no special fitness or equipment, is open to all ages, and takes most visitors 20-30 minutes round trip, with clear-weather views toward Mount Fuji and Suruga Bay from the bridge deck. The separate Adventure Course adds a roughly 560m round-trip zipline circuit through the forest canopy alongside rope bridges and platforms; this section is run by Forest Adventure Mishima Skywalk under a harness-and-clip safety system, with staff giving a ground briefing on clipping in at each platform before participants proceed independently along the course under supervision. There is typically a minimum height and age requirement for the zipline course, commonly around 110-120cm tall, since harnesses are sized for a minimum body frame; the suspension bridge itself has no such restriction. Helmets and harnesses are provided for the zipline course; closed-toe shoes are required for both the bridge and the course, and a light jacket is worth carrying since the bridge and canopy platforms are exposed to wind. The attraction operates year-round from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily, with the clearest views of Mount Fuji typically from December through February on cold, dry winter days, while the bridge can close temporarily in high winds or typhoon conditions for safety. Staff monitor the bridge deck and zipline platforms throughout opening hours and can guide any visitor back down from the course if needed.
