Choshi sits at the point where the Tone River meets the Pacific, and the day trip is built around three unrelated draws that happen to share a station: the short, old-fashioned Choshi Electric Railway, the working fishing port and its seafood, and Inubosaki Lighthouse out on the cape. It's a slower, coastal counterpart to the temple- and shrine-heavy trips on this list, with the Pacific coastline itself as much the point as any single sight. At 120km and up to two hours from Chiba City it takes a full day to do properly.

Highlights
- Choshi Electric Railway — a short single-track line running from Choshi Station out toward the cape, worth riding rather than just looking at
- Inubosaki Lighthouse — the lighthouse on Cape Inubo, with an interior staircase up to a walkway around the lantern room
- Choshi Fish Market (Choshi Port) — one of Japan's largest fishing ports by catch volume, with seafood restaurants nearby serving what comes in
- Byobugaura cliffs — a stretch of exposed sedimentary cliff coastline west of the cape, a walkable contrast to the port and lighthouse
