Le Plateau Skyline from the Lagoon

From the Treichville waterfront along Boulevard de Marseille, the Le Plateau business district rises across the Ébrié Lagoon as a compact skyline of office towers, offering a classic cityscape-over-water frame. A telephoto lens (100-200mm equivalent) compresses the towers into a dense skyline with the lagoon's surface as a reflective foreground; a tripod is necessary once the light drops for blue hour, when building windows begin lighting up against the darkening sky. Sunset and the 20-30 minutes following it are the strongest window, since the towers silhouette against the last daylight before their interior and facade lighting takes over. The dry season, November through March, gives the clearest air and sharpest long-lens results; the rainy season's haze and cloud cover soften the skyline and can obscure it entirely during storms. The Treichville waterfront is a public, moderately trafficked promenade with fishermen and pedestrians rather than tourist crowds, so finding an open tripod position is generally easy even at peak sunset time. There is no fee to photograph from this public shoreline, and tripods are unproblematic; drone flights toward Le Plateau's government and business towers across the lagoon should be avoided given the concentration of official buildings on that side. A slow shutter speed on the tripod can smooth the lagoon's surface and add reflected color from the lit towers.
