Bar Guantanamo is a cocktail bar on Rue du Canal in Zone 4, Marcory, one of the cluster of bars and clubs that make Zone 4 Abidjan's best-known nightlife district. The crowd is mixed local and expatriate, generally in their late twenties to forties, with a casual-to-smart-casual dress code and a lively, sociable atmosphere rather than an exclusive-lounge feel. Music is DJ-played and covers Afrobeats, coupe-decale, and international pop and R&B at a volume that supports conversation earlier in the evening and rises as the night progresses. The drinks programme is cocktail-focused, with a fairly extensive list of classic and tropical-style mixed drinks alongside beer and wine, priced in the mid-range for Abidjan's bar scene. The bar opens daily from 17:00, drawing an after-work crowd early on, and stays open until around 2:00, with the busiest period falling later in the evening once the after-work crowd gives way to a dedicated night-out crowd, particularly on weekends. There is no cover charge, and the venue does not operate a formal reservation or bottle-service system for typical visits -- tables are available on a walk-in basis, though larger groups may want to arrive earlier on busy weekend nights to secure seating. Its central Zone 4 location makes it a convenient starting or midway point for a longer night out that continues to the district's clubs later on.
