Veneto Weather & Climate Guide 2025
Plan your trip with detailed weather information and seasonal tips for Veneto.
Veneto is one of Italy's most diverse and captivating regions, stretching from the dramatic peaks of the Dolomites in the north to the Adriatic Sea in the east. Home to Venice, Verona, and Padua, it blends iconic art cities with rolling wine hills, thermal spas, and pristine alpine landscapes. From the canals of La Serenissima to the ancient Roman amphitheater of Verona, Veneto offers an unmatched tapestry of history, cuisine, and natural beauty.
Best Time to Visit
Best Months
April–June and September–October
Spring and early autumn offer pleasant temperatures (15–25°C), manageable crowds, lower prices, and beautiful light for photography. Spring brings wildflowers to the Dolomites and vineyard blossoms; autumn brings the grape harvest and golden foliage.
Months to Avoid
August in Venice (extreme crowds, heat, tourist prices); January–February outside Carnival for limited services
August is overwhelmingly crowded in Venice with temperatures reaching 32–35°C and high humidity. Mid-January through early February is very quiet with some attractions closed; however, Carnival (10 days before Lent, usually mid-late February) is spectacular.
Climate Overview
Veneto has a humid subtropical climate in the lowland plain, a Mediterranean-influenced climate on Lake Garda, and an alpine climate in the Dolomites. The Po Plain (Venice, Verona, Padua) experiences hot, humid summers and cold, foggy winters. Summers can be oppressively hot in the cities. The Dolomites have alpine conditions with heavy winter snowfall ideal for skiing. Spring and autumn are the most pleasant seasons throughout the region.
