A short but rewarding climb from the steep stone village of Pesche, clinging to the hillside near Isernia, up through the Riserva Naturale di Pesche to the limestone heights of Monte Totila. The reserve protects a mix of forest, rock and Mediterranean scrub with rich flora and birds of prey, and the summit ridge offers a fine overview of the Isernia basin and the surrounding mountains.
