The classic ascent of Monte Miletto (2,050 m), the highest peak of the Matese and of Molise. The path leaves the Campitello Matese ski station, climbs through beech wood alongside a high rock face to the Rifugio del Caprio near the top of the chairlifts, then crosses open high pasture and a stony ridge to the summit. From the top the panorama spans the Matese lake, the Mainarde, the Adriatic and, on clear days, the Tyrrhenian.
