A rewarding walk above Capracotta, one of the highest villages in the Apennines at over 1,400 m. From the Prato Gentile plateau the trail climbs through silver-fir and beech woods onto the broad summit of Monte Capraro (1,730 m), with a 360-degree panorama taking in the Matese, the Mainarde, the Colle dell'Orso and the peaks of the Abruzzo national park.
