Tremiti Islands

  • TransportFerry or hydrofoil from Termoli port (50 min–1 hr); year-round service, more frequent April–October

The Tremiti Islands are the only Italian archipelago in the Adriatic, a protected marine reserve of pine-clad cliffs, sea caves and crystal water reached directly from Termoli. San Domino is the green, beach-and-cove island for swimming and walking; San Nicola holds the fortified medieval abbey of Santa Maria a Mare. Boat tours circle the islands to the grottoes and the best snorkelling spots. The first ferry leaves Termoli around 08:00, making a comfortable day trip.
