The Staffoli centre near Capracotta is one of Italy's best-known trail-riding bases, set in the high pastures around Monte Capraro. Rides cross open plateaux with views of four mountain ranges — the Colle dell'Orso, the Matese, the Mainarde and the Abruzzo national park peaks — with short tasters for beginners and multi-day point-to-point trails for experienced riders.
