Sheraton Diana Majestic

Sheraton Diana Majestic traces its history to 1842, when Italy's first public swimming pool complex, known as the Diana Bath, opened on the site near Porta Venezia. The current Art Nouveau building dates to 1908, when the complex was rebuilt as the Kursaal Diana, a multifunctional recreation centre with a theatre, restaurant, ballroom, and garden fed by the Naviglio Martesana. The hotel that grew from this history retains its most celebrated feature: an expansive private garden with a wisteria pergola and a fountain, a genuinely rare amenity among Milan's central hotels and one that hosts events for up to 500 guests in warmer months. Porta Venezia metro station on the M1 line is a five-minute walk, and the Duomo is reachable in about fifteen minutes by metro. The 107 rooms and suites mix Art Nouveau architectural details — decorative plasterwork, high ceilings — with contemporary Sheraton-standard furnishings; Deluxe Rooms and Suites on garden-facing sides are particularly sought after. The restaurant and bar both open onto the garden in summer, making outdoor dining and aperitivo a central part of the hotel experience rather than an afterthought. A fitness centre is available; there is no pool at present, notwithstanding the site's aquatic history. The Corso Buenos Aires shopping street and the diverse, lively Porta Venezia neighbourhood — known for its LGBTQ-friendly bars and restaurants and significant Eritrean and Ethiopian community — surround the hotel, offering a more textured, less tourist-dense experience than the historic centre.
