The guesthouse occupies a traditional townhouse within the Sosrowijayan kampung, a neighbourhood that has served budget travellers and backpackers since the 1970s. The alley is sometimes nicknamed Gang 1000 Penginapan — the thousand-guesthouses lane — reflecting its long history as a low-cost lodging strip.
