An 8th-century rock-cut temple complex overlooking the Bay of Bengal, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The structural temple built by Pallava king Narasimha Varma II is one of the earliest surviving stone temples in South India. The site also includes the Five Rathas and Arjuna's Penance bas-relief.
