A UNESCO World Heritage Site built in 1010 AD by Chola king Rajaraja Chola I, this temple is a masterpiece of Dravidian architecture with a 66-meter vimana tower. The massive Nandi statue and ancient Chola frescoes are highlights. The temple is part of the Great Living Chola Temples UNESCO inscription.
