Rajasthan Weather & Climate Guide 2025
Plan your trip with detailed weather information and seasonal tips for Rajasthan.
Rajasthan, India's largest state by area, is a land of vibrant colors, majestic forts, and royal palaces that transport visitors back to an era of Maharajas and ancient trade routes. From the pink-hued city of Jaipur to the blue alleys of Jodhpur and the shimmering lakes of Udaipur, Rajasthan offers an unparalleled tapestry of history, culture, and natural beauty. The Thar Desert in the west and the Aravalli mountain range create dramatic landscapes that make Rajasthan one of India's most photogenic and culturally rich destinations.
Best Time to Visit
Best Months
October to March
Temperatures are pleasant (10-28°C), skies are clear, and all attractions are easily accessible. This is when Rajasthan is at its most beautiful and enjoyable for outdoor sightseeing.
Months to Avoid
May and June
Extreme desert heat reaches 45-48°C in May-June, making outdoor sightseeing extremely uncomfortable and potentially dangerous. Most desert activities are impossible.
Climate Overview
Rajasthan has a semi-arid to arid climate influenced by the Thar Desert covering the western and central parts of the state. The state experiences extreme temperature ranges — scorching summers above 45°C and mild winters that can drop near 0°C in some desert areas at night. The monsoon brings limited but welcome rainfall primarily in July-September. The Aravalli hills in the eastern part of Rajasthan moderate temperatures somewhat, making Udaipur and Mount Abu more temperate.
