A magnificent hill fort built in 1656 by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, famous as the site of the historic Battle of Pratapgad (1659) where Shivaji killed the Bijapur general Afzal Khan. The fort stands at 1,080 meters and commands stunning views of the Sahyadri mountains.
