Some of the finest rock-cut Buddhist caves in western India, dating from 160 BC to 3rd century AD, near Lonavala. The great Chaitya (prayer hall) is particularly impressive with its towering facade and ornate interior featuring 37 pillars and a large octagonal stupa.
