A magnificent palace built in 1892 by Sultan Muhammad Shah Aga Khan III, the palace holds great historical significance as the site where Mahatma Gandhi, his wife Kasturba Gandhi, and his secretary Mahadev Desai were imprisoned by the British during the Quit India Movement in 1942.
