Built by the Portuguese in 1612, Fort Aguada is one of Goa's best-preserved Portuguese fortifications. It served as the main bastion against Dutch and Maratha invasions and was named for the freshwater spring within its walls that supplied ships. The hilltop lighthouse offers stunning coastal views.
