The Swaminarayan Akshardham temple complex, completed in 2005, features a massive pink sandstone and white marble temple with intricate carvings, surrounded by a large rectangular reflecting pool (Narayan Sarovar). At dusk the temple lights reflect dramatically in the pool. The ornate carving detail (20,000+ figures) is exceptional for close-up architectural detail photography.
