Day trip from Delhi, Delhi

Neemrana Fort Palace

2 hours by roadeasy

A 15th-century Rajput palace built into a hillside overlooking the Aravalli valley, Neemrana Fort has been converted into one of India's finest heritage hotels. Even non-guests can visit for the day (day entry fee applies) and access the ramparts, tiered gardens, and pool terraces. The fort is home to India's first flying fox (zipline) — a series of cables across the fort's terraced hillside. The drive on NH-48 passes through pleasant Rajasthan countryside.

How to get there

  • {'mode': 'Private car', 'route': 'NH-48 (Delhi-Jaipur Expressway), Neemrana exit at km-122', 'duration': '2h each way', 'cost_usd': 35, 'cost_inr': 2900, 'notes': 'NH-48 is an excellent road. Neemrana Fort is prominently signposted from the expressway.'}

Tips

  • The Flying Fox zipline must be booked in advance — call Neemrana Hotels directly.
  • Combine Neemrana with a stop at Dharuhera or the Shakambhari Devi temple en route for a fuller day.
  • The fort is busiest on weekends and public holidays — visit on a weekday for quieter ramparts.
