The last great garden tomb built in the Mughal style in Delhi, Safdarjung's Tomb was constructed in 1754 for Nawab Safdarjung, Prime Minister of the Mughal Empire. Set within a Persian-style charbagh garden with fountains and pathways, the sandstone and marble mausoleum is considered a late-Mughal architectural gem. The complex is far less crowded than other Mughal monuments, making it a peaceful retreat.
