Purana Qila

Purana Qila, or Old Fort, is one of Delhi's oldest forts, believed to stand on the site of the legendary city of Indraprastha from the Mahabharata. The fort was built by Sher Shah Suri in the 16th century after he defeated Mughal Emperor Humayun. The complex contains the beautiful Qila-i-Kuhna Mosque and the Sher Mandal octagonal tower. A small archaeological museum is located inside.
