One of Delhi's most important Sikh shrines, Gurudwara Bangla Sahib was originally a bungalow of Raja Jai Singh where the eighth Sikh Guru, Guru Har Krishan, stayed during the 1664 smallpox epidemic and helped treat the sick. The stunning gold-domed gurudwara is now a major religious and charitable institution, offering free langar (communal meals) to all visitors. The sarovar (holy pool) in front is particularly beautiful at night.
